Heads has collaborated with Autostrade per l'Italia since its early days and, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, conceived and produced 150 e Lode: a travelling project to celebrate Italy’s excellences and, indirectly, the role of the motorway in uniting the country and encouraging its economic, cultural, and social development.
In the summer of 2011, a troupe including two photographers – a portraitist and a landscape photographer – a blogger and a producer, set off on a journey along the motorway on board a van by Mercedes, a partner in the project. During over twelve days they visited workshops and laboratories, explored building sites, and met people. The travellers documented their journey in real time, by posting text, images and videos on the social media and on a geo-localised website on which they shared their feelings and experiences.
The resulting material gave life to a publication and a travelling exhibition, first presented at the 2012 Ravello Festival.
