In 2009, the exhibition Lo stile dello Zar was hold inside the Textile Museum of Prato. It was dedicated to the crossover existing between textile, fashion and painting from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century, focusing on the relations between two worlds and two cultures: the Western – Italy and Tuscany in particular – and the Muscovite.
The exhibition displayed over one hundred and thirty artworks including precious silks, jewels and clothes from the Tsar’s court and paintings by the great European masters of the time – such as Tiziano Vecellio, Domenico Parodi, Justus Suttermans, Paris Bordon – as to show their mutual influences.
The exhibition’s coordinated image was curated by Heads: the graphic project was focused on the exhibition’s most representative painting, the Boyar Ivan Chemodanov by Justus Suttermans.
